Border czar Tom Homan sends message to sanctuary cities: ‘Federal law trumps state and local law’
Tom Homan, former acting ICE director and President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming “border czar,” says sanctuary cities that don’t cooperate with mass deportation efforts should be barred from receiving federal funding. “They can not help, that's their prerogative. But don’t get in my way,” he says. “Federal law trumps state and local law every time. They can not help—but they need to be aware of a couple things. Number one, impeding a federal law enforcement officer’s a crime. Number two, if you knowingly harbor a concealed illegal alien from us, that’s a crime. So don’t cross that line.”
