DHS Sec. Mayorkas: The border is not open and will not be opened after Title 42 ends

During a press conference in Brownsville, Texas on Friday, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said smugglers are exploiting vulnerable migrants by spreading lies that the U.S.-Mexico border is open. “The border is not open, it has not been open, and it will not be open subsequent to May 11,” said Mayorkas.
