Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz's reelection campaign on Monday revealed that the senator brought in a total of $21 million in this year's third fundraising quarter.

The number comes after Democratic Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown revealed that he raised a surprising $30 million in the third quarter in his reelection bid against Republican Bernie Moreno. Lawmakers have until Oct. 15 to file their Federal Election Commission reports.

Cruz's campaign said the number includes all the funds the senator raised via his reelection campaign, political action committee and joint fundraising committee, according to The Hill. He is facing off against Democratic Rep. Colin Allred, who has not announced his fundraising totals for the third quarter so far.

“At the final stretch of the campaign, enthusiasm for Senator Cruz is tangible in every corner of the Lone Star State,” Nick Maddux, a Cruz spokesperson, said in a statement. “Texans know what is at stake. The future of our State and Nation is on the line and supporters are geared up and ready to re-elect Senator Cruz and Keep Texas, Texas.”

Cruz is still expected to win a third term in the Senate this November, but by smaller margins than first predicted. The nonpartisan Cook Political Report moved the race from "likely Republican" to "lean Republican" last week.
