EPA wants some "forever chemicals" labeled as hazardous
The US Environmental Protection Agency wants to label certain 'forever chemicals' as hazardous substances.
The government wants to start labeling common chemicals, such as household cleaning items, or so-called P-F-A's as hazardous substances. P-F-AS are known to pollute water systems across the country. But some of the chemicals can also easily migrate into air, dust, food, and soil. People can also be exposed to them through food packaging and industrial work. Chemical exposure could lead to reproductive problems, heart issues, breathing problems, problems with the immune system, and cancer.
