Emboldened by 'incompetent' Biden, communist China will attack Taiwan by 2025: security expert

The administration fails to recognize "the enormity of the threat that a Chinese Communist Party poses to the existence of modern society and to our country," said Fred Fleitz, NSC chief of staff under Trump.

China will likely attack Taiwan while an "incompetent" Joe Biden is president of the United States, a longtime national security expert has told Just the News.

Fred Fleitz, who served in the Trump administration as chief of staff for the National Security Council, gave the assessment Friday while appearing on the John Solomon Reports podcast.

"I'm very worried how China will cash in on this extraordinary period of American weakness," Fleitz said. "I think that the date of the Chinese attack on Taiwan has been moved up because of Biden's incompetence. I don't think it will be this year, but I think it will be before January 2025."

Leaders in Beijing and Taipei long have been at odds over Taiwan, an island apart from mainland China. The conflict dates to the Chinese Civil War, when Mao Zedong's communist forces battled Chiang Kai-shek's nationalists. The nationalists in 1949 fled to the island of Formosa, now known as Taiwan. The Communist Chinese Party, based on the mainland, claims that the independent Taiwan actually belongs to the communist mainland.

In recent years, Beijing has sent political and military signals that it aims to move against the neighboring island.

"The Chinese Communist Party is determined to retake Taiwan," Fleitz said. "And I think they are capable of doing so. And I believe they're now calculating: Has the time come?"

Beijing is emboldened now by an inept American administration, Fleitz suggested.

"There's weakness and confusion," he said. "Biden's priority with China is climate change. And we're not making a big deal about the Uyghurs," an ethnic Muslim group that suffers greatly under communist China.

The Biden administration is not equipped to deal with a belligerent Beijing, Fleitz fears.

"I don't think this administration has any policy that recognizes the enormity of the threat that a Chinese Communist Party poses to the existence of modern society and to our country," Fleitz said.
