Iran foreign minister warns 'preemptive action' expected against Israel

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian warned that "preemptive action" will be taken against Israel soon.
"Leaders of the Resistance will not allow the Zionist regime to take any action in Gaza," Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said Monday on state TV, according to a translation from Reuters. "All options are open and we cannot be indifferent to the war crimes committed against the people of Gaza."
Iran is a backer of several anti-Israel terror groups including Hezbollah, which operates in southern Lebanon, and Hamas, which governs the Gaza Strip and launched a brutal terror attack against Israel earlier this month that resulted in the deaths of more than 1,400 people, including at least 29 U.S. citizens. Israel says that Hamas has 199 people captive, ranging from small children to the elderly.
"The resistance front is capable of waging a long-term war with the enemy (Israel)... in the coming hours, we can expect a preemptive action by the resistance front," Amirabdollahian also said without elaboration.
Israel is receiving rocket fire both from the Gaza Strip and from Lebanon and Syria, sparking concerns of a multi-front war.
