Iran launched a missile strike on Kuwait late Wednesday night, which U.S. Central Command says violates the ceasefire agreement.

"This egregious ceasefire violation by the Iranian regime occurred hours after Iranian forces launched five one-way attack drones that posed a clear threat in and near the Strait of Hormuz," CENTCOM said in a post on X

Kuwaiti forces successfully intercepted the ballistic missiles, and U.S. forces intercepted the drones. A sixth drone launch from an Iranian ground control site was also thwarted by U.S. forces.

"U.S. Central Command and regional partners remain vigilant and measured as we continue to defend our forces and interests from unjustified Iranian aggression," CENTCOM said.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said on Thrusday that the strikes were in retaliation for the U.S. attack on the ground control site, which was outside the airport in Bandar Abbas, a city on the coast of the Strait of Hormuz, The Washington Post reported
