US-built pier in Gaza is repaired, aid will resume: US Central Command
“We expect to resume delivery of humanitarian assistance from the sea in the coming days," says Vice Adm. Brad Cooper, deputy commander of U.S. Central Command
The U.S.-built pier in Gaza has been repaired and aid will start flowing soon, according to U.S. Central Command on Friday.
The pier was damaged due to severe weather and caused it to break apart. Humanitarian aid can resume after the pier was reconnected.
“Earlier this morning in Gaza, U.S. forces successfully attached the temporary pier to the Gaza beach,” Vice Adm. Brad Cooper, deputy commander of U.S. Central Command, said in a briefing with reporters on Friday. “We expect to resume delivery of humanitarian assistance from the sea in the coming days.”
