Jan. 6 protester Ray Epps says Tucker Carlson 'obsessed with me'
Epps was caught on camera telling protestors on Jan. 5, 2021, to "go into the Capitol" the following day. He has not been charged in connection to the riot, but he was not seen committing violence that day or entering the building.
Ray Epps, a Jan. 6 protester who has been the focus of conspiracies that the federal government planned the Capitol riot, said that former Fox News host Tucker Carlson was "obsessed with" him.
Speaking about Carlson in an interview Sunday with CBS News' "60 Minutes," the night before Fox said Carlson no longer worked for the network, Epps said: "He's obsessed with me. He's going to any means possible to destroy my life and our lives."
Carlson had focused on Epps half a dozen times this year.
When asked why Carlson focused on him, Epps said: "To shift blame on somebody else. If you look at it, Fox News, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Ted Cruz, [Matt] Gaetz, they're all tellin' us before this thing the [2022 presidential election] was stolen. So you tell me, who has more impact on people, them or me?"
Epps was caught on camera telling protestors on Jan. 5, 2021, to "go into the Capitol" the following day. He has not been charged in connection to the riot, but he was not seen committing violence that day or entering the building, which has further fueled speculation he was a government plant and provocateur.
