Rep. Lauren Boebert's ex-husband arrested after Colorado restaurant incident
Jayson Boebert faces multiple charges ranging from assault to trespassing.
Rep. Lauren Boebert's ex-husband was arrested on multiple charges, including assault and mischief, according to public records that came days after he and the Republican congresswoman were involved in a public dispute at a Colorado restaurant.
The Garfield County Sheriff's Department arrested Jayson Boebert on Tuesday and he was released that same day, public records show.
Police responded Saturday to a call at a restaurant in Silt, Colorado, to a report that the divorced couple was involved in a spat. Lauren Boebert denied any wrongdoing after she was accused of punching her ex-husband.
Court records do not link Jayson Boebert's arrest Tuesday to the incident over the weekend, but he was charged with misdemeanor assault and criminal mischief and his bail was set at $2,500 overall, according to The Denver Post.
Jayson Boebert received additional charges related to his arrest Tuesday, according to Colorado Bureau of Investigation records. Those charges include the "prohibited aiming of a firearm, obstructing a peace officer, trespassing, and disorderly conduct-offensive gesture," per the Post.
