Cost of migrant services nearly $5 billion in New York City

The city has spent $4.88 billion so far on migrant services with the mayor's administration projecting that costs could hit $10 billion by next summer.

Migrant-related costs in New York City are racing to $5 billion, which includes about $2 billion on housing, according to the local government's online asylum-seeker funding tracking tool.

The city has spent $4.88 billion so far on migrant services through fiscal years 2023 and 2024.

Projections by Mayor Eric Adams’ administration indicate the cost could double to $10 billion over the three year period ending June 30, 2025.
