Walt Disney World in Florida has lifted the final tenet of its COVID-19 mask requirement, allowing visitors to the theme park for the first time in more than two years to wander about unmasked.

The final mask requirements were lifted Wednesday, one day after Disney also announced its new policy to allow unvaccinated visitors into its Orlando-area parks unmasked.

"Face coverings are optional for guests in both outdoor and indoor locations, as well as Disney transportation," reads a statement on the park's website. "It is recommended guests who are not fully vaccinated continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations, including indoor attractions and theaters and on enclosed transportation."

The Disney parks in Florida have been slow to relax their mask mandates, compared to state efforts.

GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis ended the state's indoor mask mandate nearly one year ago.
