Sharpton on Biden news conference: 'Offensive' that black reporters weren't called on for questions
Sharpton on calls from Democrats for Biden to withdraw from presidential race: "I'm also hearing, 'Not so fast.'"
MSNBC host the Rev. Al Sharpton said on Friday that he didn't see any black reporters questioning President Joe Biden at his first news conference since November that took place on Thursday evening.
The White House provided Biden a list of journalists to call on during the hour-long press conference.
"I looked at the press conference last night and said, where are the black reporters? I mean, we're looking at all whites questioning Biden and black voters [are] just supposed to get in line?" Sharpton said on MSNBC on Friday.
"Don't forget it was the stone wall of the black vote and then the Latino vote that put Biden in nomination [sic]. And for us to be out of these discussions, I think is offensive and elitist," he added.
Sharpton was asked for his view of the Democrats who are calling for Biden to withdraw from presidential race.
"I'm also hearing 'not so fast,'" he said, adding that a transition to a new candidate could put Democrats in a "more dangerous position."
