Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday expressed her concerns that former President Donald Trump could triumph in the 2024 presidential election.

During an appearance on "The View," Harris discussed the upcoming election with host Joy Behar, who asked "what are you going to do to stop the crazies?"

"I am scared as heck! Which is why I'm traveling our country," Harris replied. "You know, there is an old saying that there's only two ways to run for office: either without an opponent or scared. So on all of those points, yes, we should all be scared."

Harris's remarks about the prospects of a Trump victory mark the latest instance of a high-profile Democrat sounding warning alarms for 2024. Former first lady Michelle Obama earlier this month suggested she was "terrified" the election could swing toward Trump.

"What's going to happen in this next election? I’m terrified about what could possibly happen, because our leaders matter. Who we select, who speaks for us, who holds that bully pulpit — it affects us in ways that sometimes I think people take for granted," she said at the time.

Current polling data shows Trump with a narrow lead over President Joe Biden, outperforming him by 1.3% in the RealClearPolitics average.
