Wiles claims Trump will 'campaign like it's 2024 again' during next year's midterms
Wiles, who was one of the major players behind Trump’s 2024 campaign, said most administrations try to localize midterm elections and keep federal officials away. However, she intends to do the opposite.
White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles said Monday that President Donald Trump will campaign ahead of the 2026 midterm elections "like it's 2024 again," after Democrats scored major victories in state elections last month.
Democratic candidates won gubernatorial races in New Jersey and Virginia in November, and socialist Zohran Mamdani was elected New York City mayor over traditional Democrat and former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
Wiles, who was one of the major players behind Trump’s 2024 campaign, said most administrations try to localize midterm elections and keep federal officials away. However, she intends to do the opposite.
“Typically, in the midterms, it’s not about who’s sitting at the White House," Wiles said on “The Mom View” podcast. "You localize the election, and you keep the federal officials out of it. We’re actually going to turn that on its head and put him on the ballot because so many of those low propensity voters are Trump voters.
“I haven’t quite broken it to him yet, but he’s going to campaign like it’s 2024 again," she added.
The comment comes as Trump embarks on a national affordability tour where he is expected to tout his economic agenda. The president kicked off the tour in Pennsylvania on Tuesday.
