COVID cases are rising in California as the FLiRT subvariants spread.
“COVID-19 concentrations in wastewater have suggested increases in several regions across California since early May. Test positivity for COVID-19 has been slowly increasing since May,” the California Department of Public Health said in a statement on Friday, according to the LA Times.
The report said that roughly 3.8% of COVID-19 tests in California came back positive over the seven-day period that concluded on Monday compared to 1.9% in late April.
Doctors are encouraging those in high-risk categories such as senior citizens to make sure their COVID-19 vaccines are up to date.
