Rep. Jason Smith: Increasing US GDP is key to lowering the deficit
House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (R-MO) says increasing the U.S. GDP by 3% would bring in $3 trillion of revenues. Rep. Smith says Congress must look at trimming discretionary and mandatory spending in order to combat the government’s record-high federal deficit.
