Stanford University medicine professor says public health will be a key topic in 2024 election
"You have people like Ron DeSantis on the Republican side or RFK Jr. on the Democratic side," Bhattacharya said.
Professor of Medicine at Stanford University, Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, says that in the upcoming 2024 presidential election, public health will be a major topic.
"Prominent candidates have been criticizing public health, they have made it a major part of their platform," Bhattacharya said on the Wednesday edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show.
"You have people like Ron DeSantis on the Republican side or RFK Jr. on the Democratic side," he continued. "So we will have this debate and I think it's gonna be a healthy one."
Last year before he announced his candidacy for president, Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis petitioned the Florida Supreme Court for a statewide Grand Jury on COVID-19 vaccines to investigate potential crimes and wrongdoing that occurred due to the shots.
Democratic 2024 presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been well known for his outspoken criticism of the COVID-19 vaccine and other vaccines in general.
"I do think that in the upcoming presidential election, you're going to see people on both sides of the political aisle–both on the Democratic side and on the Republican side–bring this up," Bhattacharya said.
