RNC reportedly set to cut as many as 60 staffers, following new leadership hand picked by Trump

The Republican National Committee is in the process of cutting as many as 60 staffers, just days after likely GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump installed new leadership.

The cutback process began Monday, according to Politico.

The cuts are being made across the entire organization including in the political, communications and data departments.

Vendor contracts also are expected to be cut.

There had been speculation about pending cuts, as the 2024 presidential race moves to the General Election cycle and the Trump campaign looks to cut costs and raise more money to compete with the reelection campaign of Democrat President Joe Biden.

Last week, the RNC voted in favor installing new co-chairpersons: Michael Whatley, a former chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party, and Lara Trump, former President Trump's daughter-in-law.
